Default Dosing:How do you keep the lines clear?

I'm going to start using a dosing pump for my alk, ca and Mg. I remember when I was dripping kalk, the line was always getting clogged at the tip and I had to clean it constantly.

Q:Can I expect this with the pump, dosing separate suppliments? Is there a way to avoid this?

Q: Anybody use the Bubble Magnus triple doser they have on BRS? Any opinions?

I've been doaseing awhile now Tom and have found keeping the end of the hose's out of the water helps allot and I also keep the doaser above the water line of the sump and try to keep the lines straight as I can and pointing down hill.I haven't had any build up issues since doing this. I also have a profalux 4 doaser I'm not useing if your looking for a sweet deal.(far supior to the magnus) Hope this helps

I have never had trouble with my tubes getting clogged except when dosing kalk. When the tubes would get clogged from the kalk, I would put both ends in a diluted muriatic acid bath and turn the pump on. After a few minutes the acid cleans out the entire tube. I then run a tiny bit of the kalk water through the tube and into another bucket which will counteract the small amount of acid left in the tube. It's then good to go for another month.

Tom, sounds like you might have found your pump !!

Since I started dosing I've never had a line clog.

Sounds like I need to keep the pump(s) higher than the water, as straight a tube as possible and the tips completely out of the water. If and when the line(s) clog, soak in vinegar to clear.

    Thanks for the help!

Last question: Can I use one line on the pump for vodka dosing or will that eat away at the nylon?
