Default First day dosing 2 part

    Hi everyone.

Today I started dosing ESV B-Ionic. It calls for 1ml per 4g. Which means if I were to dose for 26g DT and 3g fuge I would be dosing 7ml a day. However I know that's not my total water volume so I've started on the low end. So I'm dosing 6ml per 24g.

Am I on the right track or should I go even lower?

The answer lies in your current Ca and ALK parameters and your daily uptake. Test both and use the Reef Chemistry Calculator to determine how much you need to add to reach the desired numbers. You then daily-dose the amounts needed to maintain those values. The type of salt you use and frequency of water changes will also influence these values.

You'll need to adjust as your corals grow and/or you add additional livestock to the tank. For reference - In addition to Kalk laden ATO, I dose ~101 ml/day of each CA and Alk in ~50 gallons of water. This is a relatively large amount for the water volume, but is due to large demand by a high density of SPS, LPS and 2 large clams.

If your lower than the recommended dose than I would just do what your doing and test in a few days to see where you are, and adjust from there.

Start low and just keep checking. Each tank needs different amounts do to the stocking.
