I'm at 79 degrees all the time. I'd like to run at 75. I'm not too concerned with sps growth, but won't sacrifice fish/coral health.

Anybody running colder than that with success? If so, what's the temp?

I have two systems. SPS dominated and another that's mostly Softie/anemone. Both have a good population of fish.
    240g Great Lakes Glass! ETSS1400/panworld250,LED 120wX4 AJM, LED,2x sunbrite ,Tunzex4/,200gal sump/mixed reef/Biopellets. Hammerhead return. UV 57w. Chiller.

135g down and given to a buddy. New pic after the wall is repaired.

I use the built in season table on the Apex controller to maintain my temp. Looking ahead at the temps, the lows are January 30- Feb 3 on those days my tank will be a balmy 75.0. January through February are less than 76-degrees.

What I like about the season table is that it mirrors ambient temps, so I gain a little heater/chilling efficiency compared with trying to maintain the same temp all the time. The high temp is around August 1 and is 80.5.

I froze my butt off while diving on the Great Barrier Reef. Does that count?

I've been running at 74/75 for awhile now. At night it will go down to 72/73, then back up to 74/75 during the day. Everything's growing healthy and happy.

Man am I jealous !! I am going off subject probably Tom,but are you using heaters and looking to reduce your power consumption ?? You could easily set both systems up on alternate heat source from your hot water tank and save a ton of juice. David aka Diver-down did this and saw a huge reduction in the expense of maintaining his dual basement systems. He used plastic boiler tubes and a solenoid valve controlled by his controller. LMK if you want his number to pick hist brain on how too.
