need help to get my ammonia down

    Default need help to get my ammonia down

    i just did a water change in my 55g tank to day and did my testing my ph is at 8.4 my nitrite is at 0 but my damm ammonia is at a 0.25 to a 0.50 i just want to know if that is ok or not and what do i do to get it down

    if u help it would do nice

    my tank is not new been runnig fo about 8 to 9 m

    Ammonia at any quanity can be quite toxic.... I'd suggest a good water change and start running some activated carbon.

    Then start looking for the source of the ammo...
    Have you lost any fish or critters lately? A fish dying and going unoticed can produce these effects if your cleanup crew doesn't find him right away.
    Any chance a lot of excess food has been added to the tank?
    things like that.

    Isolate the source and eliminate it and you'll be good to go.
