I've never tried one of the red flowerpot corals. I've heard they do better than the green variety. Your pic has inspired me to find one and give it a go...I've got too much green going on in my tank right now.
Thank you. Funnily enough we have lost 2 green ones and the red has survived after being fragged twice. If you look at out reef tank 7 months old thread you will also see the 2 babies and a bright red Aussie donut coral that is thriving to. We like a pop of colour !! Thanks hope u find one and it dies great. !!
it seems to me to be an alveopora, not goniopora. they are easier to keep than goniopora, and possibly the 2 green ones you lost were goniopora, just about never kept alive in tanks. it is common for the two to be mistaken. alveopora have ~24 "fingers" per polyp. goniopora have ~12 "fingers".
