    Additional Information & Description

Montipora corals come in a variety of forms and colors, but this variety is a nice red to orange coloration. The Montipora capricornis coral's usual growth form is either plating or vase-like. The growth form is highly dependent on the water flow and lighting in the aquarium.

A wide range of light fixtures ranging from power compacts, VHO, T-5's, to the more intense metal halides can be used for Montipora corals. However, depending on your light fixture, you may need to alter their position in the aquarium to best develop color and form. In an aquarium lit by metal halides, Montipora Corals should be kept in a mid to low position and under other lighting they should be kept in a mid to high position. (Liveaquaria)

These two caps were grown in may tank over a 2 year period. I placed two large frags close together and their whorling growth pattern intertwined them as they grew upwards into a very pleasing colorful pattern.
