Its a hard to keep, picky piece for sure. I don't know what caused mine to go sideways (but I know several people that had pieces off the same colony I did had the same thing happen) but hopefully yours will be good and make it! Obviously it can make it, you have a rather large piece, and I have seen large colonies before, so just keep it happy

Mine was less than 1/4" when I got it, browned out and took months to come back. 1/4" frag was $50 + 45 shipping. Very expensive but it was free because I won the $100 DIY contest last year. I would have never bought it for that and would have been bugging you for a piece (as it seems no one has it) but I got lucky. Beautiful Colony you have there, my stub is about 1/2 " around now, 1" tall and a little 1/4" nub growing on the base which is about 1 1/2"...,,,after 9mths or so lol. Slow grower w hen its that size.

So far anyway it has proven to be an easy one. It has really increased in coloration. This is what it looked like the day I brought it home:

As you can see the red and green have both really gained color.

Thank you, will do. I have a couple of spots that I could frag and it would not be noticed but, I don't want to cause it any stress until after I know it is settled in.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't give it any unnecessary stress anytime soon, not worth the risk IMO. I'm in no rush whatsoever, 6 months 6 yrs no problem.
