    Default My Blue Tort Spawned!!

I have seen sps spawn on TV specials, but never in my own tank...until the other night. I decided to check my tank before going to bed and pulled out the flashlight. I saw all these little red things floating around. Looked like cyclopeze pellets. As I continued to look around the tank I found they were coming from my blue tort. I grabbed my iphone and shot some video. I know it is poor quality, but its the best I could do with a flashlight and a phone. It was around midnight wednesday night/thursday morning. Yes, it was a full moon.

what do you have for flow in that tank and do you turn the flow off at night? I have noticed this in my tank do they look like little marbles and have different colors almost glowing?

I witnessed a spawning of mini-brittle stars the other night. One of these mini-starts put a stream of eggs into the water about 8 pm (almost all the tank lights were still on) and before you knew it, there was at least 150 of these 2 inch buggers out everywhere! Very strange, especially since they are never out other than a limb or two poking from the live rock.
Detroit's oldest large LED tank! Est'd Jan 2005, went LED June 2009. 6' wide 130g reef, Sunbrite T10 LED tubes (3xGen 3 and 1xGen 1), mostly SPS, but chalices, other LPS, and a few softies too.
