Default Help my CandyCane Please!

She looks terrible! I added a new skimmer and an ATI Actinic bulb. Which one is most likely at fault for the shape she's in? Polyps pinched, looks like some are even melting.

Water test all good? Most likely just a little light shock

Default Re: Candy Cane?

No. I replaced all 4 but the actenic is one I hadn't used before. Will it recover ya think? I'm thinking of moving it down to the lower back.

Moveing it to lower light area would not hurt it. How does it look when lights are out ?? Should have feelers galore out ! When I ran T5's I always use to change one bulb at a time, one per week to allow for a smooth transition to the higher par of new bulbs

When my candy canes (any LPS really) look like that it's usually nitrates or phosphates. Any ideas what those numbers are? A couple extra waterchanges often takes care of it. Color loss is more indicative of light shock in my experience.

Default Candy Cane?

Tested no3 which is .0 as for po4's I don't have a proper test. But I can't see it being present is any dangerous levels. I'm only feeding frozen these days, RO/DI WITH 0 TDS. Besides, all other LPS and softies are doing great, well with the exception of my zoas-lol.

Tom, when I dose my 2part I add it to my return chamber which is just about level with my MP10. Trying for the highest flow area. But right below my MP10 is the CandyCane. Could the CC be getting irritated by the 2part? See pic... ymese7eh - Candy Cane?

Default Candy Cane?

Well whatever was bugging it, it seems to have passed and polyps are beginning to inflate once again
