Kenya Tree Removal

I have a Kenya Tree in my tank. Yes, technically about 30 of them as they drop off and float away... I pull out the little ones when I see them, so they haven't taken hold. Anyway, the main trunk split into two trunks a few months back, and now I have two of these - maybe 8" tall and at least 1" diameter at their bases (which are now completely separated.

They are so big for the size of my tank, that they kinda unbalance it all. So, if I want to remove one of those "trees", how do I go about it? Can I just take scissors, and chop it off at the base? Or, use a razor blade? Other thoughts?

I assume it will start to grow back from what is left of the base, and I am OK with that too. Actually, it might give it that split level effect so popular to the Knights who say Ni!

Aiptasia X works for me. They come back every now and then though. The rock cutting method didn't work. If you cut it it just grows back.

Pretty sure I am not gonna try to put a chemical on something the size of a head of broccoli. Not in my small tank. But, really, I was planning to give the stalk to my LFS. I do the same with all my GSP. If it starts to regrow on the rock, I can live with that, it is just TOO BIG at this point.

A razor blade works well. Be careful, they grow like dandelions.

I pluck them off the base if possible. Or remove what ever I can. I have been doing it for the last 3yrs

so basically once in you got to keep removing them for rest of the life of the tank

If you are looking to get rid of it, I would be interested in a piece. I have a 110g with plenty of room. I agree though, if you cut the stalk it will grow back. I would also be concerned about scraping with the small pieces floating away and sprouting new trees. Feel free to pm me. Thanks.
