Default What's in my Torch?

I had the pumps off in my tank so my torch kinda settled down and I noticed this crazy brown algae like stuff. LOTS of it... But, when the pumps were turned back on, it was expelling the brown stuff like crazy. Never seen anything like it. Any thoughts on it?

Id agree with Heidi, every once in a while corals release waste and sometimes they do weird things while doing so. for example, one day i noticed my welso was all shriveled up and releasing brown stuff similar to whats coming out of your torch, at first i thought it was dying come to find out it was just taking a crap lol

Coral Reef Aquarium - Corals - What's in my Torch?
I agree , poop I am still overcoming the death of my torch that had 4 enormous heads and was awesome as of the night of the 26th. the 27th both heads retracted in the center, then bam, slimed up debris all over. Netted most of it. Now I have 2 seperate heads. The skeloton was very very fragile compare to most. I wonder if it was a disease , but the coral was so awesome.

Looks like zooxanthellae being expelled to me. I've had LPS and Tridacna clams do this from time to time. Usually associated with a stressor (ex. large water change, new bulbs, moving powerheads, ect.). If it is an occasional occurrence then there is nothing to worry about.
