Exclamation Hey Everybody, CR missed it's own Birthday!

    :occasion4:
    :woohoobig:Happy Birthday Captive Reefing!:newtoot0vz:
    ~Established Sept. 4, 2004~
    :newole:
:WHY: Did we forget our Birthday Folks?
Captive Reefing is now 2 years old,

    Dave (Dakar) & I (Reef_Angel) Susan
hold this site close to our hearts,
and we're always thinking of ways
to make it the best it can be!!

Look how far it has come in such a short time!
The best part is, it keeps growing and changing
    Members have become like FAMILY!
We stick together when someone is in need,
and I don't ever see that changing.
It's just something we won't let happen.
    Our popularity keeps growing,
    and so do our topics!

Sponsorship is something we are going to be
working hard for this year. We have 2 at this
point, but the site is still a non-profit site.
We intend to always have Captive Reefing be
a FREE site! We feel all that become members
here are Reefing for all the right reasons, and
that's what we want to keep encouraging!
A price can't be put on saving our Reef's!

    Starting now on year 3,
we still have so many plans & things
that we're either working on or planning to add.
If it wasn't for our Staff Members
and Members alike, all of your great ideas, and
    your wonderful friendships & humor,
we wouldn't be anywhere. We wouldn't be
known as a popular Reef Site without all of you
making it one! The Search Engines tell a good
story for us too! Captive Reefing has moved up
quite high in the ranks in only the 2 years
    we've been in exhistance.
Everyday we see new members join, so we'll
keep working our tails off to keep them here to stay!

We have over 2100 members, almost 30,000 posts...
Not bad if we say so ourselves!
Hey, just last night (Friday 9/17/06), we had an offer from a
Gentleman that felt our site is in direct competition with his.
He either wanted to merge sites with us, or directly purchase
Captive Reefing. We can't put a price tag on this site,
and would never consider it! We would never just desert
the friends we have accumulated in 2 years or entrust
them to a new owner! We would pass the site on to a long
time member if that ever came to pass, because we know it
would be run with the same principles. Keep it in the family
as they say! That was a stunning email.... Isn't that awesome!

We'd sincerely like to thank every single one of you
for helping make Captive Reefing what it is today!
Please hang in here with us, and enjoy the future upgrades,
contests with prizes, and of course....
ANYTHING that you think may benefit CR, please
continue to share those ideas with us! The arcade
has been a big hit, and we're glad we can provide things
like that, the chat room, the pager, the new Zoint feature,
unlimited photo album usage, private messaging....just to name a few!
That photo album is coming along, but I still need a lot
more help from you folks with your photos! I want that
album to shine with a lot more faces than I have so far!
T-shirts are in the very near future by the way!
(pssst...our son works at a T-shirt shop folks
as a Manager no less while juggling college to
be a Network Guru like his Dad)!

It may sound a lot like fish mush, but...

We Love All of You in Our Captive Reefing Family!
You're the best friends 2 people with a
    Reefing Dream could ever have!

Happy Birthday to All of Us!
    Always Reefing,
    Angel & Dave

Default Bumped the Captive Reefing B-day!

I'm surprised hardly anyone has looked at this post! I know there's a bunch of regular's here that have been here from the start that this would really mean a lot to, so I bumped it one last time. The first year, we had amazing response. I guess being 2 is old hat already huh? :headbang: We all forgot it to. Gosh, and I even got the song on the thread. I was proud of myself! Anyway, here's to another year with more ideas and cool things to add to the site!

I have been here for a bit myself and wouldn't ever think of any other place as my home site... my roots are set and have been for quite some time, now!
There's nowhere else I'ld rather be... unless, of course, you're buying

Think we have the better part of a case of Mike's Lemonade in the icebox Com'on and get one 'fore they disappear!

Thumbs up Now I'm seeing some of you who have been here from the start!

Repto is way to modest. He helped build this site from the very beginning. He's been here since day 1, and was deemed a moderator right from the very start. It was just myself, Dakar & Repto making this place happen, (we called ourselves the troublesome trio since the other site we left didn't want us anymore), and it kind of started off as a joke just to prove we could build a site and offer a friendly place for people to share reefing questions, ideas and the like. We were determined to show the site that gave us the boot & treated people with negativity at times, that a Reef Site could have members that get along. It's easily done by treating others as you would like to be treated, done with great care, no fighting, and if someone disagreed with another that it was OK. Just agree to disagree, look up the correct answer and go on with your reefing. We have found our members here to be great supporters of every one's opinions, and doing our best to provide the best accurate answers possible. It's been a wonderful years so far, and I can't see it going in any other direction. It's hard work keeping up to it all sometimes, but we can always count on our members to jump in...just like a family member would help another! This is a worldly family run site where articles on subjects are welcome, the author given the credit. If anyone ever wants to do something like that, nothing has changed. We encourage all of you to put you mark of intelligence on the site. It's also a big part of the reason we still remain a non-profit site. Everyone will always be welcome here! Thanks to all of you! ....Angel
