Default Cherry On Top Photo Contest - sponsored by Cherry Corals

In part to feature the new CR website, this month's photo contest is called "Cherries On Top".

Each member may submit up to 3 entries in the Coral Collector Forum to be considered for this contest. You should select corals to post that you feel are worthy of being called "Cherries". When you create the threads in Coral Collector you must also complete the thread fields to the best of your knowledge. Accuracy in completing the fields will be taken into accounts when choosing the finalists.

Why "Cherries on Top" you ask? Well you will notice when you submit your entry in Coral Collector that the entry will display as a thumbnail in the "Showcase" tab on top of each page. So lets see those Cherries!

This month's prize...a $100 gift certificate to Cherry Corals!

In addition, the winner will have a golden camera award placed in his or her postbit and will be featured on the CR homepage. The winner will also serve as a judge for the next two photo contests.

The last day to submit photos is June 30, 2011.
    Rules

    1. The photo must be your own. *
    2. Upload the photo to the thread you create in the Coral Collector Forum. Select Cherry on Top Contest when you create the thread.
    3. Try to upload a photo that is at least 640x480 resolution. **
    4. The previous two (2) POTM winners are inelgible to win.

*Submitting a photo entry is acknowledgment that it may be modified and used for future site graphics on CR with credit given to the owner.
**Please retain higher resolution versions of your photos. We may need a higher resolution shot to make them work with the site graphics after the contest.

    Selection of the Winning Photo

Based on the number of entries submitted, a number of semi-finalists (10% of the entries will be semi-finalists) will be selected by jimsflies and the previous two POTM winners. Semi-finalalists will be posted for the general membership to vote on their favorite. In the event of a tie, the tied entries will be reposted for a tie breaking vote with the general membership. Should we receive 10 or less entries, the judging panel will decide the winner. Photos will be judged on topic, composition, and quality (and completion of the fields when you create the Coral Collector thread).

Good question...if you go to the Coral Collector forum and use the forum search box at the top of the forum and select "Cherry On Top" under the Subtopic, it will show the entries. Or you can click here to see them.

Also if you see "Cherry on Top" in green under the titles in the Coral Collector forum, you can click that and it will filter the forum so all you see are the threads designated as Cherry on Top. This also appears in the new and today's posts on the left hand column. ...So I guess there are several ways to do it.

I just added anemones to the coral collector list. I'm still trying to decide how I want to deal with other inverts in our showcase forums.

So, for this month anemones are in. Clams are out. lol

There will be other contests for clams...

    Lets see more cherries!

What we are looking for here is are your top three "sweetest" corals to be submitted here (one coral per submission): http://www.captivereefs.com/forum/ne...newthread&f=56

It is not required that they be purchased from Cherry Corals...they are the sponsor of the contest.

If it would be helpful, I can do a tutorial on how to submit your entry?
