    Default DIY Powerhead holder

There has been alot of talk on the forum lately about powerhead holder since suction cups have such a limited life if any at all. I was doing some tank maintenance and decided to try and make some out of acrylic. they actually turned out SLICK .
just cut the acrylic wide enough to fit the PH holder and approx 8-12 inches depending how low you want it in the tank. took a torch and heated the acrylic till it was workable and just bent a "hook" to go over the tank. I then drilled holes in the acrylic and fastened the holder to the acrylic with some plastic binding screws.
They work very very nice and the acrylic is very nice and doesnt stick out.

Ah.... looks like someone was thinking, one sandstorm too many, and to think $1 worth of nylon screws and a scrap of acrylic could prevent the next cussing session walking in to see a PH churning up yoursandbed.

    Good one!

After a night's 'sleeping on it' the only thing I can think of to improve it would be to adda suction cup or similar to the back of it, only to absorb any vibrations from transfering from the PH to the tank glass.

that is a good idea Dave, well they have been running a day and I am very very impressed, I really like that the acrylic is clear, makes a good look (until they get coraline encruste)
