Default DT plumbed to the kitchen?

OK, I don't know where this story belongs, or even if it DOES belong, on CR, but I found it to be a close relative to what we are all trying to do with the balance of our tanks:

Malthus, a Meal a Day. Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying About the Food and Love the (Population) Bomb.

I am not sure that they really understand the growth rate of a fish, or just how one can eat "one portion" of that tilapia. More likely, they will need to be eating many more smaller fish. But, the effort is interesting, nevertheless. And, the article really does address a lot of the same problems reefers face!

I think you would be talking about how hungry you are... it doesn't look very filling!

It's really a good analogy to what we are trying to do - balanced growth/health, lighting for photosynthesis, waste disposal, etc

He might give up on the critters with backbones, and consider an alternate source of protein, snails, perhaps?

Especially with all the over fishing by commercial fisherman.
