The suction cup on the DA temp probe stopped sucking (or did it start?) and I got tired of the probe just hanging loosely in the sump. I toyed with the idea of buying a magnetic probe holder, saw the prices, and decided I could make something that would do the job at a much lower cost. Here's the result...
Using scrap plexi-glass I had laying about I:
- cut two pieces to size (the wall piece is thinner than the horizontal piece),
- filed and sanded the exposed edges,
- drilled two 1/2 inch holes in the thicker piece,
- superglued them together,
- used the existing Tunze Osmolator magnet to hold it, and finally
- dropped the temp probe in.
All in all a pretty straight forward project that cost zero dollars.
