Default DIY cabinet, sump/fuge

Hey guys well in my nitrate lowering quest I've built a cabinet and sump, and ordered anASM G2 skimmer. The skimmer arrived today and it's huge. My question is my sump is only 24"W my first chamber will house the skimmer and will take up 10" only leaving me 14" can I make the second chamber (which will have miracle mud and cheato) 12"? Which would leave 2" for a return chamber and I guess I'd have to mount my mag 5 externally, can this be done? Also I've had a wet/dry with bio balls, when I switch to the sump/fuge can I just do an instant switch or do I need to put some old bio balls in the new sump, until the cheato can take over the bio load?

All the extra garbage poped up when the board was switched to this new software, the old stuff came across a little jumbled. It is a good indicator that you are reading a preaty old thread though.

All fixed... Joe got it dead on... there are likely still a few hundred posts left from a long time ago that need to be fixed up...
