diy glass fix

Default diy glass fix

i have 50 gal cube rimless and the front glass is cracked need some insight on how to fix other than getting new piece of glass i know that much .
Do i have to take whole tank apart to fix the one piece of glass just need to know what i have to do to put the new piece of glass in

Measure the broken piece and make sure it's exact, use some thin piano wire or guitar string to break the silicone seal on either side. After you have the broken piece off clean the old silicone off with a single edge razor and then go over it with acetone a couple of times making sure the silicone is completely off.
Hopefully you would have ordered your replacement glass piece and head over to HD or Lowes and get several tubes of silicone w/o the mildew resistant stuff in it.
