Default DIY Phosban reactor

Hey, I built one similar to this one only difference is I used a taller "Propel" bottle... works like a charm. Here's a link...

Working really well for me... in it I have 50% GAC and 50% Rowa Phos. About 1/3 way up the bottle.

jay, i got 2 of them built and running, I am running half reef carbon and half phosban. I have one hooked to a 250gph powerhead and it seems to be working, would you think thats enough flow in there to be allright, the carbon does not look like its being "stirred"

BTW, DO NOT forget to use a floss filter over the exit water holes.

how much water do you got going into the reactor???? I am using a 250 gph powerhead. should that be enough to work efficiently?

I have about 150 gph on a rio pump... can you see a compairable flow out of the exit holes??? I don't believe you want the carbon moving or it just rubs the other pellets and breaks down. I am under the impression that 50 gph through a reactor is great for up to a 150.

Thanks for the link J,that looks like it would make an excellent carbon reactor too.I agree,50-75gph would be perfect for a reactor of that size.I've never used Phosphate absorbing media,i've heard so many different stories from people useing it.What are your guys thoughts on PO4 media?

I am interested in making one, can someone post pictures with directions on how to connect it into the system? Sorry novice here I understand how to make it, but not how to implement it.

Thanks
