If you wont PC lighting that is one of the better kits you will get because of the individual reflectors that come with it

if you are going to get a 55 watt kit, why not get the 55 watt lights too?? the more light the better.

Okay - here is the thing. I have two 15-gallon planted freshwater tanks and I don't realy need 3.66 watts/gal, 2.4 watts/gal would be just fine. I plan on getting a 2 bulb unit (1 for eash tank). I like the longer reflector thar comes with the 55watt units but don't want that much lighting. I was tring to plan for the future, with the 55watt ballast if I could run 36 watt bulbs I would be able to reuse this in a 55 watt configuration later.

Looks like all of those kits use a Workhorse 5 ballast... it will fire anything up to 96w tube without issue... changing up later will not be an issue, plug in a new bulb and go. If you need wiring diagrams they are posted on the board, or I'll repost or dig them up for ya.

You are correct. I called and was told that the only diferance was the length of the reflector.

Thanks
