Default my first diy

DIY1.......... my 1st reef tank. made a plenum under the entire tank sub strate. found out after a year, my salt level was at 1.031 and i kept it there. everything grew fantastic but hard coral, 0 for 6. zoas filled the tank. ..DIY2,3,4@,5............ Have made numerous protien skimmers. the last one, everything but the pump was bought at a dollar store. .DIY6...... working on one that uses a korilla pump and the entire unit floats in the sump, MASIVE air and no cavition. and economical to run, damn close not finshed yet.. DIY7... my 50gal breader hood. it has a lot going on. in order, from front to back. row one vertical, botom to top. 1 36" 18 red leds, strip. row 2 & 3, 2 36" 18 deep blue leds, strips. row 4, Left side very bright 12" blue led strip. right side very bright 12" purple led strip. . row 5, 1 36" 18 deep blue leds strip. .next row back..... 1 36" 96 w 10k . . next row back.... there are 2 250watt 14k mh,10 led moon lights and 1 12 led uv strip. .next row back ...36'' 420nm. ...DIY 8.... my son is using this. 1 400w mh ballast running 1 250w 20k, . it runs this light BRIGHT WHITE' showing no signs of blue . like it does when we run it on a 250w .. . DIY 9 ... setting up a 4' 50 to operate like the coral ponds at the Tropoquiarm, we do more to 200 gals, than they do to 50,000 gals. there way works.

now if you took the time to read all this, id like to here ideas for a 90 gal. thats going up when the 55 is done. im leaning toword just a well lit sump with odd inverts in it. ANY IDEAS? IM LISTENING and THANKS

I have an idea... get on that DIY thread! Could you take some pics of the floating skimmer?

I'd like to check that out.

Also, on to tank advice. What are you thinking about as far as inhabitants and what do you have with space? I would suggest a sump and if you have room, rubbermaids are the best because of space and versatility.
