So like I mentioned... I got an ASM G 1x protein skimmer with needle wheel impeller and thought it would be an upgrade to put a "larger" rated gph pump on it... not so!!! I returned the Sedra 3500 to the skimmer and for the upgrade, plumbed in a Sedra 2500 needle wheel for recirc... holy cow!!! No kidding... some major microbubbles are filling the skimmer body full and the movement is to the extreme.
Now that is some serious micro bubble production... the skimmber body is really white! Looks like it's already pulled a fair amount of light skimmate too. How's it doing as far as not returning microbubbles to the sump?
Well, there are a few, but nothing a sock can't get rid of or a gate valve/w vent mod could handle. Luckily, it's in my first sump b4 the refugium... here's a better idea of what it's about...
