General CommentsTank established 9/2009, so it's little more than frag tank at present. 140 watts of AI LED. Tank is managed using an Apex controller. 10% weekly water change using RC. A 17 gallon Advanced Acrylics frag tank was added 3/2010. Lighting provided by a Maxspect G2-160 LEDs.

Mixed reef, lots of SPS with a pair of ORA Picasso's hosting in a Pruess RBTA, Crocea, Derasa and Maxima clams.

More InfoATO and A2P are managed by the Apex using BRS peristaltic pumps. 2 dosing pumps (1.1 ml/min) provide Ca and ALK dosing overnight to support pH. One Top-off pump (50 ml/min) provides ATO. Top-off water is maxed out with Kalkwasser and dosed overnight. ATO/Kalk water is stored in a 7 gallon tightly covered pail and topped off weekly. Instead of a Kalk reactor, extra Kalk is place in the bottom of the bucket to compensate for degradation.

Power failure protection is handled by an APC SU1400NET UPS which provides 60+ minutes battery backup for all tanks, systems, cable modem and router. An additional Vortech UPS provides extended run time for the MP40s. Apex WXM module provides wireless control of MP40s.

An Auto water change system is currently being set up using 50 ml/min top-off pumps and 40 gallon brute containers plumbed from a basement. The system will exchange 1 gallon daily resulting in ~90% water changes each month.
