    Default Lightning Maroon. Spawned!

After two years in captivity, the famous PNG Lightning Maroon Clown has finally spawned! Matt Pedersen ( @mpedersen ) shared a video of the new parents tending to the freshly laid eggs.

Matt credits the double down technique as helping to get them spawning. The Double Down technique, possibly originated with Mitch May @BooyahsReef of Booyah's Clownfish, involves adding a nest of eggs from another pair of clownfish to get a reluctant pair of clownfish who are clearly bonded and interested in mating to lay eggs. Using this technique, you either wind up with the nest being eaten (and lots of good nutrition being dumped into your reluctant breeders) or you get the pair tending their own eggs.
