Unhappy Thanks Terrorists, Red Sea is done!

    Hey People,

I just wanted to let everyone know that Red Sea Fish will NOT be available from anyone for the foreseeable future.

This is because they ship out of Yemen, where the intercepted bombs came from, and so, the US State Department has shut down Yemen.

So don't get mad at your LFS when they can't get you a Purple Tang.

Take care of the Red Sea fish you own, they may be hard to replace.

    Cheers,

    Fish Dr Tom

Wonder if that is a temporary measure or the permanent solution?

at first when i read this i thought you meant red sea the company like the one that makes the prizm skimmer lol, then i was like ahh terrorists at the ports, this is terrible but i guess a good thing at the same time, it gives the fish stock in the red sea a chance to regain population while this is going on but at the same time it is terrible for the LFS and people who want things from it to add to their tanks

I hope it isnt a permenant thing of course but it could run along time, like the embargos on south africa.

From what my uncle tells me, (Military Police 4th Infantry Division) the blocks should be relaxed in six months. He says the CIA will keep a close watch on Yemen for six months, then gradually relax the port shipment restrictions. Right now, only essential items such as food and water go in and out of Yemen. So...our precious Red Sea fish should be available again next summer. Hope you can wait! Also, if the CIA discovers more of these rogue weapons turning up in Yemen, they will likely close the ports longer, so pray this was an isolated incident.

    Hopefully it is temporary.

I wouldnt mind seeing it go longer.....would be nice to see their reefs get a break! Remember when purple tangs were $50???

Just dont get mad at your local fish store! Its not their fault.

I used to get Red Sea fish shipped out of Cairo, Egypt. I wonder if any of those wholesalers are still around?

You should be able to find someone on CR that can provide that for you.

Why do you guys think the reefs will "get a break"? I highly doubt Asia in particular and Europe are banning imports from Yemen.
