    Additional Information & Description

Just picked up a Canary Blenny. I had one once before and really liked it. They are always busy picking at the rocks, but are usually out and about where you they can be seen.

IMO one of the best alternatives for someone looking to add bright yellow in their tank. They don't seem to perch like a lot of blennies. Although mine does snuggle up inside of my green toadstool at night. They also seem to like to go into holes...in my old 50 mine would venture into the closed loop when I had it off for maintenance.

Although they apparently are venomous, mine has never tried to bite. I think it is something they use as a defense. According to what I have read, if they are eaten apparently they make an attempt to bite the inside of their attacker's mouth to get away.

yep... it's a teaching moment... DONT PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE TANK!!!! The lion was just sooooo much cooler than the blenny. I had one a few years ago that i missed and this little guy was super sweet looking and eating.

so, how goes it with the canary blenny? i've been looking for one now since i passed the one up a few months ago and now cant find them cheap enough. one store had it for 29 but i had seen them at another store for 15, so now i have a cap of 20 i wont go over or i will feel like i'm getting ripped off.

Has he bitten anything? has he been bothered by any of your fish?

I had one earlier this year Less than 5 minutes in my tank and my McClosteri wrasse was dead. about a week after that my 57 finished it's cycle so I toss him in the with a yellow tang. Next morning I got up in time to see the tail of the blenny going into the mouth of my carpet nem. I thought it was justice served and went on about my business

I loved the bright yellow of those canaries. Had one for twelve hours, and found the crabs eating its innards. Week later, I replaced it with another. It survived eight days before meeting the same end. Got a yellow tang instead, and he has been happy, happy.
