These fish are hard to get eating, and even if you are lucky enough to get one eating it is possible for them to just stop eating! They are known to eat aptasia, so if you have alot you may have some extra time to get it onto prepared food, but this is not an easy fish to keep long term, nor are they a good beginner fish!

Yes they are a great addition to the aquarium but can be tough to feed if bought from a LFS that gets them from pristine waters. We catch them locally in QLD Australia and they come from some pretty dirty places - as such they will eat anything, which is great because we can catch them young and keep them sucessfully with ease.

This year has been rediculous with the numbers of them around - must be a good year for the Chelmon...

Here are a few local examples caught recently -

Thanks Miz, I think it is probably the best pic I have gotten out of my phone... No editing, other then cropping to get just the CBB in the pic and focus on it alone! It does seem to be the easiest to get good pics of though as I have had a few now... If only my wrasses were so easy lol

Yeah I think pretty much everything reef wise is better from Australia! Everything I've seen seems to have cleaner colors (not muted like other places as much), and alot of things seem to live that come from there compared to other places so the water quality would seem to be a very valid point! Must be nice having a reef and living there huh?

Those tiny little guys are SWEEEEET!!!!! I wonder if mine came from there, it eats everything and was pretty small, not that small, but about 2" across and has some of the best coloration I've seen on them in person!
