    Additional Information & Description

The Majestic Angelfish, or Pomacanthus Navarchus, is a fairly mellow anglefish that lives in the Indo- Pacific Ocean as well as some parts of the east Indian Ocean. It is also called the Blue-girdled angelfish It lives in areas with large amounts of coral. Younger fish stay closer to the shallows, but the more mature fish can be found up to 120 feet deep. Majestic Angelfish eat mainly sponges and tunicates. Juvenile fish are mostly blue in color with white stripes. They grow to a size of about 15 inches and can live to be up to 21 years old. The Majestic Angelfish is one of the smallest of the larger species of angelfish. (wikipedia)

This fish was at the LFS and I could not resist taking a picture. The variety and intensity of the colors are incredible! This close up picture also shows the barb on the gill plate and the beak-like mouth.
