When compared to common Percs, Picassos have exaggerated barring with unique patterns. These fish have three separate white bands. Grading as near as I can tell (this seems highly dependent on breeder) has to do with the number of bands which are connected...forming a checker board pattern of orange and white. Symmetry of the barring is also desirable...although not common with picassos. Another trait many picassos have is the "helmet" appearance of their front white band which extends further over the head and around the eyes with the picasso variant.

This particular one is my female. She is still beating up the male which has been relegated to the area near the vortech and overflow. I'm guessing these are about a year old at this point. I have had them since right after Christmas 2012.
