Other Names: Potter's Leopard Wrasse, Geoffroy's Wrasse, or Shortnose Wrasse
Reef Safe: yes
Care Level: Expert Only
Min. Tank Size: 50 gallon
Temperament: Passive
Dominant Color: Blue
Disease Prone: average occurrence
Jumper: high occurrence
Tank Mates: Bartlett Anthia's (pair), Yellow Coris Wrasse, Occy Clown (pair), Yellow Tang, Passer Angel, Bangaii Cardinal, Yellowtail Damsel (haven't been able to catch him to remove from tank), Gold head sleeper goby

These guys REQUIRE a sand bed, as they will hide in it when they get spooked, and they also sleep in the sand! Most places list them as EXPERT ONLY, as they are very difficult to keep. Many come in with damaged mouths and don't make it long, most of the others don't eat and slowly fade away. I would suggest a large, peaceful, well established tank for these beautiful fish, with a large pod/ mini bristlestar population as they will provide a natural food source until the wrasses start to take prepared foods more readily!

Thanks Thomas & Larry... These guys aren't very common due to the issues with even getting them in alive, so in a way them being a pair makes them even sweeter because there aren't very many pairs around

I would like to get them to a nice 3-5 hareem but I know that will take some time as they don't pop up to often, and even when they do many don't make it unfortunately
