Default Any Reef Keeper Lite Users Out There!?!

First off I absolutely love this thing. So intuitive and easy to use once you throw the manual away like a real man should do.....

Maybe this thread can be served as a trouble shooting or assistant thread for current and future issues with the RKL. That way all info can be found in one location?

But anyway I was wondering, since I need to update my firmware to support my recent module purchase of the SL2, how difficult is it.
See Im not the most computer savy dude out there and any help of pointers would be much appreciated!!!!

Can I do it from my MacBook or does it have to be on a windows based system?

    Tx

I believe it has to be done from Windows. You could use boot camp, to boot into windows on your mac.

Glad to see this type of thread. I'm a happy owner of a RKL and I'm always looking for new tips, tricks, and info.

Not sure I can help you Rob with updating the firmware as I'm a Mac user as well (just got my first Mac in May).

If you have an Intel based Macbook, you can use boot camp to run Windows at start up. To boot into Windows you will need a copy of the Windows install cd.

There are quite a few users who would like to see Digital Aquatics support OSX, just check this thread on RC: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...readid=1652233

Plan on updating RKL tomorrow. I need to get my SL2 online. Will be sure to post my results. I have a feeling I will be calling support on this one.

By the way these units are extremely sensitive to water. A single droplet of water from the collection cup of my skimmer dripped on to my MLC unit. Everything freeked out and turned off.

Luckly all went back on the next morning. But I did have to send the MLC back to support to be repaired. One of the bus ports had to be replaced. Quick easy and painless service and a lesson learned.

Now all units have acrylic splash guards surrounding them or near them to protect from random water droplets or splashes.
