Default Can I switch a PSK 2500 for a mag 9.5 on my reef octopus smimmer??

I have a Sicce PSK 2500 pump on my Reef Octopus skimmer and it just quit working the other day. When I plug it in I can hear it come on and feel the magnet grab but it won't spin. Is there anything I can do w/ this or is it just dead? The impeller is fine and I don't see any other damage.

My second question is I have two mag 9.5 pumps sitting around not being used. Could I use one of these to replace the PSK opposed to dropping $100 on another PSK. I think the PSK is rated at 660gph and the mag is 950?? Would that be an issue?

Thanks

What reef octopus skimmer do you got? I know I can upgrade money by adding a bubble blaster pump from the sicce. I run a extreme 200.

I'm no expert but I don't think it will work . That's alot of bubbles and gph for a little skimmer. If it does work you might have to raise or lower the skimmer.
