carlson surge device

anybody ever make a carlson surge device out of a 5 gallon salt bucket? am i aiming too low in total gallons or will this work?

should work

It should work fine, the only problem with the carson surge device is that there is not really a good way to get rid of the bubbles. what size tank is this going to be going on?
