Default Help Choosing a Power Head

Okay, guys and gals I need some help choosing a power head for the display tank.

My cyno problem is out of hand and I gotta do something. I currently have a Vortech mp20 on the tank, but still need more.
If anyone wants to send me an early birthday present of a mp10 please do,(Ill PM you my addy!!!) but unfortunately I can't afford it right now. I wish I could because I truly cant stand the look of a big ugly power head and more over the wire coming up out of the tank.

I am trying to decide between the Korilla Nano and the K1. There is only about a $5 price difference between the two so that isn't much of an issue. I find the extremely small size of the Nano attractive as I can hide it better, but am concerned that it will not make enough of a difference. The size of the K1 is still respectable but larger than I would like to see in the tank. It would protrude from the tank wall alot more and of course the wire.

So if anyone has any specific experience with these two pumps your opinion would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

personaly I prefer the tunze pumps and the new stream pumps are about the size of a baseball for a nano or softball for a normal size one not to mention they are omnidirection mounts with magnets now much easier to use
I have been reefing from 08-2007 till 5-2011

reef tanks are like wifes you have to give them some attention every now and then

Honestly, I don't believe the answer to cyano is more flow. I have a ton of flow in my tank and still get it from time to time. When it gets unmanageable I use a little myacin. I think the underlying cause is a nutrient issue...but at times it is unavoidable.

I agree that flow is a myth only because I have a rock that is about 3 inches in front of my VT and its covered. However, if there is something to be learned from this, the cyno has shown me where my dead spots are and I am hoping to eliminate them.

I like the Koralia 4's, they have a magnet mounting system.

Go with the K1. You're looking for flow and the K1 has more of it.

However, if you're willing/able to spend the extra I suggest a Tunze nanostream. I have a 6045 and a Koralia 2 and the Tunze is more user friendly and much less obtrusive. It's easier to hide because it's round and the mount holds it closer to the glass and you have a limited range of motion with the Koralia.

I'm not dissatisfied with the Koralia... just more satisfied with the Tunze.
