help needed on reassembly

I have an Atman 1100 power head on my skimmer. I took it apart to clean it and now cannot get the correct assembly. The parts are:
brushes/shaft
2 ceramic discs
small black cap
thin white shaft
I know the thin white shaft goes through the brushes/shaft with the cap at the opposite end of the brushes. But where do the ceramic disks go? I am pretty sure one goes on top of the brushes but what about the other one? Frustrated.
