Default How's this sound for a ATO?

Alright finally got my RKL + and come to find out it has a nifty little timer function that you can control say a pump for a given amount of time to come on any day monday - sunday. or all days. at a certain time.

I have a about a 250gph pump set up in my 5.5g ATO tank.
I figured that running the pump for about 3-4 seconds takes care of the evaporation loss.

So i have it set to run every other day for 3-4 seconds and set the tube up to make sure it doesn't maintain a syphon.

    Whats everyone's thoughts on this?

bad idea. get a real ATO with float switches... a timer will never get the right amount into the tank.

I agree as evap amount changes daily as humidity in the room and outside changes

get a float switch for that pump and you are all set

    fixed that for ya

dual float switches with relay control so that incase the lower float switch sticks in the down position, the top switch shuts the system down if it gets into the up position.

lol I am a bad man as far as redundancy goes

you would probably laugh at they system I built

it is literaly a high power 12v supply with a float switch and sump pump designed for boats to pump water out have the switch mounted upside down so it comes on when water gets low

If your RKL came with an SL1 module then you can add the float switches and it will function as an ATO.

    HTH,
