I just got a 14 gallon biocube. The fans don't seem loud to me, but I have my tank in my fishroom with lots of noises.
Rapidled.com has led plug and play for biocubes, they look nice but don't have experience with them.

I get bored easily and change fish and tanks like some people change shoes.
I did a RapidLED retrofit in my 14G Biocube and I love it. I love the color and I can grow all kinds of SPS well.

The fans on my 29g biocube are also loud, i think it is because the bearings are worn out so you just need new fans. i would go with the rapidLED kit as well for the cube.
which rapidled kit should i go with. i went on their website and it looks like the 29 bio cube is not available.
I've got a 29 and I did the old nano customs upgrade to double the lighting, but even with the bigger fans they're overheating and blowing bulbs (I tested the ballasts, they're working fine, not spiking or anything unusual, so I'm attributing it to heat around the bulb even though the tank temp is staying normal). So I started thinking about upgrading to LEDs. Right now I'm looking at an AI Nano w/controller, completely removing the existing top, and doing a screen over the top made out of window screen frame and pond mesh (I think Jim posted when he made something like this).
