    Default Maxijet 1200 replacements?

I noticed that my clams and my diadema urchin were looking a bit sad. This is the second Maxijet 1200 I've had that burnt up on me in the aquarium.

I have the maxigrip magnet mounts for these.

    Any suggestion on replacement?

The tank is a 75 gallon all glass aquarium with 3 maxijet 1200's. The maxijet mods didn't last too long, and after having two of these powerheads poison my water, I'm thinking of a replacement.

I changed out 10 gallons of water, and changed the carbon when I found out what was going on.

    Vortech

One of the reasons I love em, no stray electricity and they dont heat up the water.

I'd recommend a Vortech, I love mine. If you can't afford one there is the Hydor Koralia. Both also come with magnetic mounts.

+(whatever number we are up to) on the vortech. I have two on my 60cube and love it. Best investment i've made for my tank thus far. IMO they are worth the money. They are easily fixed if anything wears out on them, ecotech has good customer service, and they have really cool functionality. That's just my two cents.

Yep they are pricey but worth it. You wont get the type of random flow with your timer n maxijets. Its no compairison to a vortech watch for used ones that's how we got ours mp20 for 140. Later I can get the kit n turn it into a mp40Wes for 200. So it allowed us to not to dish out over 400 all at one time. Love em so much I won't go back to korallia or such again. As soon as I can were gettin a 2nd vortech and I have cancer n am off work in chemo and feel they are worth the cash when we don't have much cash.

I have Tunze nanostreams (6025 and 6055) and recommend them without pause. You should come check them out sometime and get that red paly frag while you're here.

Keep an eye for used nanostreams at Preuss. Seems like they have them from time to time.

    HTH,
    Tom

PS the 6055 should work on the wavemaker... but be sure to verify that with the Preuss crew it you go that route.
