    Default Mp20 help

Ok I have a mp20 in our 65 gallon set up and the dryside is randomly making a chirping squeel bot 1x aday for bout a hour sometimes 2x in 24 hrs. To me sounds like a bearing type sound. Is there anyway to fix this problem. If anyone has advice let us know thanks for any n all help.

Any idea if it is on the wetside or dryside?

Ecotech is pretty good about sending out parts. Once you have it narrowed down, I would give them a call and get a replacement coming.

Hi Jim thanks for the help I think its the dryside if I touch it it stops its set right no vibration or the rattle of em being off center of eachother. The mp20 is older model I just got used seeing I am on disibility with the chemo n all so I don't think it'd be covered by them with warrenty. Really is a shame I got it n hrs later it was doing this so the guy prob knew it had a problem. Yet he went on n on bout how great it was n he didn't want to sell it but was getting outta the hobby. Tried to do a upgrade on my limited funds n this happened. Total bummer that people do this stuff to others. Let me know what ya think. Thanks again Jim

If the wet side is not allighned with the dry side they will make a weird noise.

Usually wetsides are the first to have issues.

You may want to take the wetside apart and reassemble it. Sometimes the ceramic bearings come loose.

Call ecotech see what they tell you.

They took care of me with my second hand mp-20. I didn't make a big deal out of not being the original owner...they didn't ask. I do believe it was still within the warranty period though as they had the serial number, etc.

Thanks everyone for the help I will try with ecotech n see where it leads. Also if it is the wetside would it stop by touching the dryside as it doesits very quiet other then the random chirpping one or two times a day. Everything seems tight n free of slop on the wetside just cleaned it up good and all a weekago when we got it. Rechecked it tonite n seems fine.
