so i bought a used nano 28 with the 150w hqi, and need to find a ballast for it, ive been searching online and have come to the conclusion that i can only use the oceanic specific ballast for this hood? wondering if anyone knew anything about this? also if anyone knows where i can find one localy that would be great as well!
You can use any ballast. There is nothing magical about the stock one. Using a different ballast will just mean that you will have to hack/splice/modify the existing wiring to get the new ballast to work. It's not hard. There are only three wires; ground, and the two bulb ends (not polarity sensitive).
