Default places to set up an RO unit

Hi guys, I was wondering if you knew anything about setting up an RO unit because I recently got in trouble for flooding the kitchen with RO water lol so maybe you can answer my questions. can you hook them up to any water source? if so how do you go about it. I have my own bathroom so I was thinking maybe I could potentially hook one up to the bathroom sink so i dont flood the house with RO water

Bathroom would work, or hook it up off the bathroom plumbing anyways and hang the unit somewhere else.

I found the best place for mine is the laundry room. It is mounted on the wall above the laundry sink so I can place buckets or jugs in the sink to fill. If I forget and they overflow its no big deal since it goes down the drain.
I used a garden hose wye adapter on the washing machines cold water line to feed the RO/DI and the waste drains into the sink. It could also be plumbed in to the faucet or cold water lines on the sink using adapters such as these but I chose the simple route:

yeah my bathroom is right next to the laundry room so either way the unit will be no more than a few feet away

In a bathroom space is usually at a premium and vanities don't have much room under them. To keep the wife happy it worked better on the wall in the laundry room which in my case is off my garage so no one ever sees it but her and I.

We're running a smaller 75 GPD RO/DI unit in our apartment. We have it stuck behind the porcelain throne running off of water from the sink that I re-plumbed (I had to drill a hole in the cabinet to run the water line out of it...our apartment is going to hate us when we move out). Our water container is in our tub to try and catch any spillage.
