    Default using vinegar

Most definately. I use it to clean my pumps and powerheads also. Works a lot better than the commercial aquarium equipment cleaner that recently came on the market.

Yup - Works even better if you warm it in a microwave first (the vinegar NOT the Skimmer)

It dissolves the mineral deposits much more quickly is used warm/hot. It literally "blasts" the calcium off of the part being cleaned, easily cutting cleaning time in half. If diluting with water, simply heat the vinegar water solution for the same effect.

Well I know it works on coraline for sure. Just cleaned my Koralias and wow! Let em soak for a couple of hours and didn't even have to scrub. Stuff came right off. They now look brand new

I noticed that the warmer the water temp was the faster the pump seemed to get clean.

It speeds the chemical reaction - The hotter the better
