Default Skimmer Stinks Worse than the others.

The Bubble Master 250 is pretty much broken in now and it really stinks...literally. It's putting out a lot of light skim, but the smell is BAD. I can smell it from upstairs and my wife isn't going to put up with that for long, lol.

My other three ETSS skimmers put out a lot of skim too and it's very dark, but it doesn't smell like the BM. (no pun intended)

Q: This sounds ridiculous, but am I getting a different kind of skim? Is it getting a different type of protein than my old ETSS's?
    240g Great Lakes Glass! ETSS1400/panworld250,LED 120wX4 AJM, LED,2x sunbrite ,Tunzex4/,200gal sump/mixed reef/Biopellets. Hammerhead return. UV 57w. Chiller.

135g down and given to a buddy. New pic after the wall is repaired.

I don't think it is diffrent Tom just not diluted. My BK is the king of stink also ! I keep a throw away hand warmer on the lid of the cup to absorb the stink. Works pretty good ! Stinky skim equals good skimmer !

I'll try the hand warmer thing, Chuck. Thanks. I have to do something cause it's gettin' worse and I don't want to empty everyday.

Believe it or not, it's the color of weak tea, while the other skimmers are putting out black coffee. The bubbles are very fine compared to the etss, though. I don't get it unless it's stripping what the other skimmers aren't. I figure it's got to be good if it's pulling anything. Must be a lot of junk in my water, lol. Just can't get over the smell.

My Warner pulled out stinky skim too, REALLY stinky. I put a bag of carbon on the cup lid and it helped a lot. I bet the hand warmers do the same.
