be sure to clean/chage out your return lines!

just wanted to send a reminder out there to everyone to be sure to clean or change out your return lines! i wanted some more flow in my tank because air bubbles were getting caught in my life reef overflow so i ordered a mag 7 impeller to put in my mag 5. While i was waiting i decided to change out my return line (flexible vinyl tubing) so i changed it out and got the nozzles and valves cleaned good and after hooking it up my gph increased by roughly 100gph! the larger bubbles just get pushed right through the thing now! i ran into an issue though with it, it pushed so fast my gurgle buster couldn't keep up! i had to remake another with larger holes and i now have that one working fine. it is cheap ($2.76 with tax for 5/8" ID 3/4" OD vinyl tubing 5 feet) and took me 15 mins to cut it off and change it and i have increase my flow substantially! they were sitting for about a year so i think i may do an every 3-6 months change now.

just wanted to remind everyone to do the same!

yep. just trying to remind us to try to be fail safe because it really is important, if my pump lost any more flow from it then my overflow could of built up to much air and failed causing my tank to flood (not normally but with the ATO hooked up it will)
