    Default T5 ho light

Hey guys, I am looking to get some corals for tank but i need some HO lights first. Right now, I have a coralife 36" F21-T5-BP light fixture for two 6700k bulbs in it. Can i upgrade to 10000k or is the fixture not a HO fixture? Thanks so much

I would suggest you switch to ATI or giserman bulbs and look at what your planning to keep in the tank. 6700 K bulbs are for growing plants basically . 10k bulbs will give you very bright almost yellowish look and will limit what you can keep to high demand species. I would recommend that you use the ATI blue plus bulbs. Very high PAR output but a nice all purpose bulb that will allow you to keep a nice mix. The ATI bulbs also are one of the few bulbs that really do put out over 300 par as advertised. I am not familiar with your fixture but most high output fixtures will have a HO in the description if you look it up on line. Hope it helped

If what I'm reading is correct then those lamps you have are 6700 HO I do agree with Binford (go figure lol) The ATI's are definitely your best bet. A tad bit more expensive then the Coralife but well worth it. I've been using them for 2+yrs
