    Default Very IMPORTANT! FILTER/SKIMMER

Ok, i just recently set up a 55 gal tank. I have a single
millenium and a dual millenium filter..there are air tubes that point
up and let the water aireate..do I need these tubes up even during the
night? The reason I ask is that it is so noisy. Also, does a protein
skimmer need to run at full power or at all in the night??#ed_op#br#ed_cl#

Some people like to reduce the amount of current in their tank to reduce the flow, simulating calmer seas at night... so providied that is not your only source of circulation it may not hurt. However keep an eye on your pH swings, minus the extra oxygen being added to the tank your CO2 levels may rise causing a rapid drop in pH. A refuge with reverse daylight cycles can help reduce this effect.

Skimmers... I'd say they should be running 24x7, except maybe during feeding time depending on what you feed.
Every electronic device is manufactured with smoke stored deep inside... only a true genius can find a way to set it free.
