    Default Weird white pod

Can you tell me what kind of growth this is.
This is in my overflow and I have found a few in the sump like between a rock and the glass, so all seem to be low flow and places where no one can eat them? The over flow got about a dozen on both sides....
The one pictured is about 1/4" long rest are smaller....

I can clean them out at next water change by scrapping them off and draining my overflows?
But not sure if I should let it go and see what grows???

OK Thanks for the replies,,,,,,they will stay for now...

I like the sponge theory - as its not a snail for sure as it never moves - its more toward plant/ fungus - alien pod.

So its hanging off the glass, right side is on the glass, feathery hat floating on end... .
Its hard to tell by the pic but they are tube shaped, reminds me of when I grow cucumber in the summer and they first appear and start to grow..
To dark now to take a better pic...

I'm aware of the snail that you mentioned though, Stomatella snails, got them in the tank & sump also..

I agree on the sponge, but sure could pass for a snail in that shot.

Nope these never move they are stuck in place. Got more small ones now - just getting slowly bigger - looks like a grain of rice sitting on its end with a nice little fuzzy hat. added another pic better pic of different one....

I did pull a couple out of the filter sock - and they are like a little sponge.

Also on pic (new) are the super tiny lines and dots on it which are like pods running around in there. Super small but super speedy little guys...
Got a lot of same really small pods in the sump and tank over last few weeks ,will post pic in other post.
