    This has been in my tank for quite a while. My understanding is that he is an algae grazer, and good for the tank. I just cannot remember what the name of it is.

    thats all i could think of too, but it is just a bit smoother looking, but by far the closest to a chiton

    on some of the larger chitons a layer of flesh grows over the plates on their back

    It's a chiton of some type...I found a similar looking one on wet web media. Thanks for helping me find the right word to search on!

    Sweet chiton. I've only seen one before and it was at the Tropicorium.
