Default New sponge

Hi all,
My long tentacle anemone finally moved about 6 inches from where I first put it 16 months ago, and underneath it , on the rocks is a cool sponge. Does anyone know what type this would be?

Callyspongia sp, I would guess... as for a more common name... why not thorny sponge?

Cool. Nothing like free. Hopefully it likes the extra light.

I have a real nice blue/purple barrel sponge also , dead center and up front , in my tank. The only problem is that my leather hides it most of the time.

Both really cool looking... we've got some purple and some green barrel types, but nothing like whoyah's spiny ones.

Actually Tileman is the lucky owner of the spiny sponge not me.

Tileman... that blue one is awesome. Did it just grow in your tank or did it come attached to something you purchased? What a cool blue.

Reef Angel, It just grew out of my live rock, Its awesome up close, around 6 inches in diameter. I have sponges growing in between the rocks everywhere but those are white.
This is a macro shot that Shane Silcox took a couple weeks ago.
