    Default Predatory Snail?

I found this guy munching on a stomatella. Normally, that wouldn't bother me so much except the stomatella was being eaten alive. I can't help but wonder if he'd go after something larger next. The snail is roughly 3/4", maybe slightly larger. I've been searching wetwebmedia for a while now with no luck. Any ideas?

That is a predatory whelk. Everyone that you can find in your tank must be removed as soon as possible. It will kill snails, stomatella and even a beautiful clam if the opportunity arises.

Thanks so much for your help Marc! Munching on the stomatellas didn't bother me too badly, but I noticed a couple of my Christmas Tree worms missing. I moved him to the QT tank, but he didn't make it.
